Of course we couldn’t make it through the Grammy awards without some controversy. That seems to be the norm these days with award shows. If you haven’t heard, after this year’s Grammy Awards held last Sunday night, legendary guitarist Carlos Santana commented on Adele’s win over Beyonce in the Album of the Year category. Santana said that even though Beyonce is beautiful to look at, she’s not a “singer, singer,” while Adele can “sing, sing.” On Tuesday, Santana tweeted that his remarks were “taken out of context” and that he has the “utmost respect” for Beyonce. Mr. Santana is certainly entitled to his opinion. Adele is a wonderfully talented singer but true fans of Beyonce know that she can definitely “sing, sing.” Even Adele admitted after the awards that she had voted for Beyonce and added “What the f**k does Beyonce have to do to win album of the year?” We like it better when artists support rather than disparage each other…can we just all get along?
