Really Ben? Omg, really? Newly appointed Secretary of Housing and Urban Develpoment Ben Carson, in a speech to HUD workers on Monday, referred to slaves as "immigrants" who came to America in the bottom of slave ships. Carson said that slaves worked harder for less and dreamed of happiness and prosperity for their descendents. Carson's comments immediately were met with disbelief from a variety of public figures and groups. Carson later took to Facebook to walk back his comments, saying that slavery and immigration to America were two different experiences "which should never be intertwined, nor forgotten." We've said it before...with the new Trump administration, nothing surprises us.
