Beth Mowins Will Make History As The First Woman To Call Play-By-Play On Monday Night Football Tonight

When Beth Mowins teams up with Rex Ryan(also making his booth debut) on ESPN's late-night Chargers-Broncos game tonight she will make history as the first female to call play-by-play on Monday Night Football.

Mowins, the preseason voice of the Oakland Raiders (Now The Las Vegas Raiders) has been a fixture on the ESPN College Broadcasts for years. Her love of sports however, began long before that. Mowins grew up in a family of sports fans with a father  who coached basketball. When her older brother started playing football with the other kids in the field behind her house she would set the dial on the radio to a certain station, plug in her "Mr. Microphone" and announce the games to her mom and brothers back in the house. Tonight she will be be making history when she announces the play-by-play  back to the house from the booth.
