LL Cool J Nominated for 2018 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

When the 19 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees were  announced this morning  James Todd Smith (who named himself LL Cool J at the age of 16 )  realized that he could be well on his way  to being inducted into it's prestigious club. He is the only MC  among the 19  2018 nominees.

In order to be nominated an artist  has to have dropped  their first official recording at least 25 years  prior to their nomination. LL Cool J is known as Rap's original teen superstar. his first Album, Radio dropped in 1985 making him Def Jam Record's Flagship Artist and a mega star. In the years that followed he sold several platinum records and became a pop icon with starring roles in several movies, a starring role on  NCIS  Los Angeles and as the host of Lip Sync Battle.

LL Cool J  began 2016 by receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame 0n  January 21,  and ended it December 26 by being the  First Hip Hop Honoree in the history of the Kennedy Center Honors. He's worked diligently on all of his projects through 2017 and it looks as though 2018 could be cool for LL Cool J.
