Nevadans Go To Polls Today For Primary Election

Today is Election Day in Nevada as a statewide primary is on tap. Voters will decide on a number of candidates ahead of the general election in November. The most important race on the ballot is for governor. Governor Brian Sandoval's term is up due to term limits and voters today will decide who the final two candidates are in November. Adam Laxalt leads the Republican field while Clark County Commissioners Steve Sisolak and Chris Giunchigliani have been waging a fierce battle for the Democratic nod. Voters also will decide on candidates for U.S. Senate as Democrat Jacky Rosen looks to unseat Republican Dean Heller. Also on the ballot are seats for U.S. Representative, Nevada Attorney General, and Clark County Commission. Turnout for these midterm primaries is normally very light but these are important elections so hopefully voters will come out in larger numbers than normal. Polls are open today from 7am-7pm.
